It Starts With One Girl.

One Girl.

“My name is Najee, and I am in the fourth grade.
Many times I feel intimidated and afraid of
  competition when boys are around.
I feel better about moving my body
when it is just us girls…”

Tamara was 16 years old and was coping with
her stressful days by smoking, eating unhealthy

One Family.

Typhanie is a girl, an athlete, a daughter, and a motivator. At ten years old, Typhanie, a member of a GoGirlGo! community, felt inspired to get healthy, but she did not go on this journey alone.

Read her story…

“What I wanted most for my daughter was that she be able to soar confidently in her own sky, whatever that may be.”
-Helen Claes

One Community.

In Bettendorf, Iowa, a group of young girls opened their community’s eyes to inspiration and transformed their hearts. The Pleasant Valley High School Spartan Cheerleaders receieved a GoGirlGo! Ambassador Grant from the Women's Sports Foundation and coached a group of girls, dubbing them ‘The Sparkles.’ This group of Sparkles cheerleaders are mentally disabled, and most had not been given much of a chance to be physically active as part of a team. Hear their story through one of the Spartans:

“In the beginning, we thought the most important
thing we could do was to teach our Sparkles to cheer…”

“Sports is human life in microcosm.”
-Howard Cosell

What is GoGirlGo!?

Other ways the Women's Sports Foundation is helping change one girl, one family and one community at a time:

Why give to the Foundation? Because the Foundation is meeting a critical need. Your gift is an invitation to join in an entrepreneurial social change venture, an opportunity to invest in the health, empowerment and success of women through sports. When we expand participation and leadership opportunities for girls and women in sport, these experiences pay dividends in the form of a stronger, healthier society. Join the Women’s Sports Foundation and help more girls get off the sidelines and into the game!
