Ballooning
What is it about the adrenaline rush we get while suspended in air? Perhaps it's simply knowing there aren't many people in your place, in that particular moment. Ballooning fulfills that desire to be on top of the world, literally. Ballooning is the sport of propelling an air-filled buoyant fabric balloon that is attached to a basket (gondola), which holds you and up to five other people. Women braved the sport of ballooning earlier than you may think. Madame Blanchard put women in ballooning on the map when Napoleon appointed her as his Chief Air Minister of Ballooning back in 1804!
