Adventure Racing
Adventure racing is a multi-sport discipline that usually includes but is not limited to: trail running, mountain biking, kayaking, orienteering and rope skills. Adventure races can vary anywhere from 2-5 person teams, with some events now offering solo categories. Races can last a few hours or several days and there is typically no “dark period” making the choice when and if to rest up to the competitors. Navigation skills are vital as the map from start to finish is not provided before the race. The team that gets all members to the finish in the shortest amount of time (including any penalty minutes assessed) is declared the winner.
