Acrobatics
Imagine yourself springing from the floor with awesome air, immediately rushing into a round off, backhand spring, and then smoothly landing, without sound, performing a most graceful somersault, all to the sound of music. Acrobatics, or to elevate derived from the Greek language, developed in the seventh century with the creation of the circus, but acrobatics as a sport is relatively young. Acrobats, either individually, or in groups of two, three and four perform routines with the heads, hands and feet of their partners in tumbling competitions. The event takes place on a 25-meter long track and the moves consist of awe-inspiring round offs, back springs and somersaults. Routines are performed to music with exclusive choreography. A sport for all ages, acrobatics demands intense training, power and poise.
