Three-time Olympic Ice Hockey Medalist
By Stacy Holand

Seven. That is the number of times that Angela has been to the Annual Salute to Women in Sports Gala. And I still think she enjoyed the seventh as much as the first. She has been part of the Foundation family since 1998 when she won first of her three Olympic medals. Her entire team was invited was invited to event to celebrate their amazing accomplishment of taking the gold. Since then Angela has been involved with our mission and with the work we do everyday. She has traveled the US representing the Foundation and helping us raise money by taking the time to attend Friendraisers and Fitness-a-thons. When she moved to New York to work for the New York Islanders she made sure to coordinate a Women’s Sports Foundation night and help us raise over $1,500 for the Foundation in one night.
Angela is someone who asks what else can I do…what more can I do…how else can I be involved. I even got a phone call one day asking those exact questions. Those are the calls you love to get, and show that athlete believes in what we do. She helps spread that message to kids that attend her camps and clinics by distributing Foundation materials and items. And continues to work with us to make things better for all female athletes by sharing her thoughts and ideas. So when the Athlete Advisory Panel was created we knew that Angela had to be part of it. She has invested so much of herself already we can only what the future holds. She is someone that I can go to and know that she will be there for us. I mean she did end our last call with “Stac, whatever you need we’re here!” It does not get any better then that!
