Internship Opportunities

The Women's Sports Foundation is a great place to get a start on an exciting career. Our interns have gone on to be "movers and shakers" in the sports world and beyond!

Our internship program has multiple objectives:

1. To provide passionate people with a broad exposure to the sports industry in general and, more specifically, to issues, opportunities and programming related to women's sports and physical activity

2. To provide a professional work experience to college students and post-graduate students interested in pursuing sports-related careers

3. To provide interns with access to valuable future employer contacts and assistance in determining personal career goals

4. To provide the Foundation, an internationally recognized 501(c)3 educational nonprofit organization, with talented, ambitious and knowledgeable individuals to assist in the implementation of our advocacy, communications, development, education and grant programs

Where You Will Work: Interns work at either the Women's Sports Foundation Headquarters in East Meadow, N.Y. (45 minutes from NYC) or the Manhattan Office, unless otherwise noted.

Your Committment: Interns must commit to the Foundation for a minimum of 6 months and a maximum of 1 year, and are expected to work from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Internships are available in two sessions - January to June and June to December.

Compensation: Interns receive a stipend ranging from $900/mo. to $1000/mo.

Housing: The Foundation does not provide housing for interns; however, upon acceptance to the program, the Foundation will provide a list of local housing and highly encourages prospective interns to investigate all possibilities for housing through friends, family and other networks.

A Great Job! Half of your day is spent in the Foundation's Information Referral Service answering the toll-free phone line, responding to information requests, and referring people to other sources for information. The other half is spent working in the sport career area of your choice. What career area "department" would you like to work in? Read our department descriptions.
